Teen Activist & Artist: Destiny Faith

Destiny, Miss Teen Fresh Face America 2021 is an aspiring teen model who has a love for animals and serving her community.  Destiny is a high school student active in FFA and JROTC.  She participates in community service projects through both of those, thru her various pageantry opportunities and on her own.  Destiny is a sexual assault survivor and witnessed domestic violence at it's worst. She strives to continually bring awareness and let others know they are not alone.

What do you do and why do you do it?

My mom started me in pageants not long after my coming forward about being sexually assaulted.  I lost alot of self confidence and my mom wanted me to find it again.  After the first couple I realized how much I enjoyed it and strove to become better.  I love how on the other side of pageants there's community service involved.  I love to help others and give back, with pageants and my crowns it enhances who I can reach.

How does what you do benefit others?

Humanitarian projects go to give back to homeless shelters, kids in need of Christmas, animals shelters, nursing homes and more.   These are done within pageants.  I also attend community events, it's great to be able to talk to people and interact with my community. One of my favorites was meeting our vets at the communities memorial celebration.  A world war 2 vet actually called me over wanting pictures with me and in turn we learned his story.  Not only does what I do help others but in turn I learn so much about others and stepping stones that helped build our nation.

Describe your career journey and how it led you to where you are now.

Well I am currently a few weeks shy of being 16 years old and a high school student.  So right now my journey revolves around school and pageantry.  Pageantry has led me to where I am now, I have found a way to let my voice be headed and to bring awareness to various causes.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Five years from now I would love to be able to model for designers, one of my favorites Johnathan Kayne especially.  I would love to get my foot in the door to the model world and use money from it to support veterinarian school.

Who is your favorite superhero and why? Do you relate to them?

Our front line workers and military.  These men and women sacrifice their lives daily and are so often overlooked.  During this pandemic especially, working long hours with no days off.  Our front line workers and military are the true heros.  I aspire to be able to help others as they do.

If you could have one superpower to help you further your purpose, what would it be and why?

I would love to be able to read minds.  If I could read mines it would help me understand others and maybe even know how to help them better.
