Humanitarian, Businesswoman & Survivor : Azia Hernandez

What do you do and why do you do it?

At the core of what I do, whether it’s my lingerie line or being Miss Massachusetts, I aim to spread love and positivity because I feel like the world deserves more of it.

I try  to promote a healthy physical and mental lifestyle. I like to lead by example but not editing my photos on Instagram aside of brightening the colors from time to time. I am a pageant girl so I do have perfeshila photos taken of me all glamed up, with professional lighting, and airbrushing done and am transparent about that. I like my followers to know that at the core I am just a normal everyday girl who likes to spend days in altheasur and cozy hoodies but on occasion I like to get blamed up for fun. Getting blamed up for me is just an exciting fun expressing, like dress up for big girls by by no mean am I that doll face with perfect living all the time. I show in my instagram stories that most days I am wearing practical close with minimal hair and make up as it is practical for my life style. On a daily basis I will do some form of exercise weather that is going to the gym, taking my dog for a walk, or doing yoga. It. Is important for me not just as a beauty queen but as a person to keep my body and mind healthy from the insidious if I truly want to shine and represent myself as a beauty queen.

How does what you do benefit others?

I feel others benefit from me being transparent about my life because they can see not only what really goes into being a beauty queen but how normal pageant girls are.

I have had girls contact me saying how appreciative they are that I don’t over edit my photos and that I show all aspects of my life, not just when I have a crown on my head.

I am trying to normalize pageants and have people understand that it is not about who has the most sparkly dress or best eyelashes. It is about having a pure kind heart and being someone who has a genuine care to make a positive impact.

Describe your career journey and how it led you to where you are now.

I started doing pageants from a young age and each one has progressed to more opportunities.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Five years from now I hope to be making an even bigger impact than I am now. I will continue to spread my message of self-love and to remind people to be brave, be bold, and be themselves.

I also hope to continue inspiring others through pageantry and my lingerie line.

Who is your favorite superhero and why? Do you relate to them?

I relate most to Wonder Woman. What I like most about her is she is multi-talented standing for justice and love.

If you could have one superpower to help you further your purpose, what would it be and why? How would you use it?

If I had some sort of superpower it would be a magic pixy dust that I could sprinkle on someone. They would instantly have a boost in self-worth and begin to live a life where they are brave, kind, and true to themselves.
